Livestock.

At Shiwa, we proudly manage a thriving herd of 1,500 Boran cattle, a breed celebrated for its resilience and exceptional beef quality. Adapted to the highland environment, our cattle are raised with a focus on health, productivity, and sustainability. Careful herd management, selective breeding, and responsible grazing practices ensure consistent, premium beef production across the estate. This approach not only supports the vitality of the herd but also preserves the natural beauty and ecological balance of Shiwa’s landscape. We are committed to excellence rooted in tradition, and we invite you to contact us directly for live animal sales as well as dressed beef sales.

Highland Coffee.

At Shiwa, our Highland Arabica Coffee is cultivated with care in the rich soils and cool climate of the estate’s highlands. The unique environment, combined with traditional farming practices, produces beans of exceptional quality, known for their smooth body, bright acidity, and distinctive flavor profile. Careful harvesting and processing ensure consistency, while our commitment to sustainability preserves the natural landscape that makes Shiwa coffee so special. Each cup reflects the heritage and character of the estate, offering a premium experience rooted in authenticity. We welcome inquiries for both green bean sales and roasted coffee, tailored to meet diverse customer needs.

Timber & Forestry.

At Shiwa, our timber and forestry operations focus on producing high-quality eucalyptus, including prized varieties such as Jarrah and Citrodora. Grown in the estate’s highland environment, these trees are carefully managed to ensure durability, strength, and consistency across all timber products. With sustainable forestry practices at the core of our approach, we balance productivity with preservation of Shiwa’s natural landscape. Timber can be cut to size according to customer requirements, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Through our preferred exporters, Shiwa timber is available for international markets, offering clients reliable access to premium eucalyptus products rooted in tradition and excellence.

Apiculture & Bee Keeping.

At Shiwa, our budding apiculture initiatives are designed to encourage healthy bee populations and support biodiversity across the estate. While we do not harvest honey ourselves, we construct durable bee hives using excess and scrap timber from our forestry operations, giving new purpose to materials while fostering pollinator habitats. These farm‑built hives are supplied to a growing number of organisations throughout Zambia, helping strengthen local ecosystems and agricultural productivity. By promoting sustainable beekeeping practices, Shiwa contributes to the preservation of vital pollinator species and the long‑term health of the environment. Our commitment reflects a broader vision of stewardship, innovation, and ecological balance.
